WORKING 3rd SLIDE OIL

This oil is specifically designed to lubricate slides used in the active playing of your brass instrument: such as the 3rd & 1st slide found on the Trumpet, Cornet and Flugelhorn.

  • Do NOT use this oil on the main slide of the Trombone.

TUNING SLIDE GREASE

Tuning Slide Grease must be applied to all movable slides on any Brass Instrument. This will ensure the slides keep on moving and not get stuck in the instrument.

  • Make use of enough grease to ensure the slides seal properly.

MARIMBA MAINTENANCE - NOTE CLEANING OIL

Every once in a while you will need to clean the notes on a Marimba. Our Marimba Note Cleaning oil can be used to clean and maintain the wooden notes on Marimbas.

  • Marimba notes made out of Kiaat, Rosewood or any other type of non-lacquered hard wood can safely be cleaned using our Marimba Note Cleaning oil.

TROMBONE SLIDE CREAM

This video will show you how to CLEAN your trombone, APPLY slide cream and INFORM you on what materials to use and how. It will also ADVISE you on things to do and to avoid doing when performing these tasks.

  • Do not place too much cloth on the cleaning rod - it might just get stuck.
  • Don't apply too much cream on the slide-stocking.
  • Spray water ALL AROUND the inner-slide to ensure the whole slide is covered with water.

ROTOR VALVE OILS

Phat J Oils Rotary Valve Oils

SPECIALIZED OILS EXPLAINED

BEARING OIL: designed to be used on the bearing part of the rotor valve only. You need a thicker oil here with decent protective properties.
ROTOR OIL: a slightly ticker oil than piston-valve oils. This oil must repel water and keep the rotor lubricated.
KEY OIL: designed to be used on small joints, ball-joints and hinges. Ideally, it must be a high quality oil that lasts.

  • Do not use VALVE OIL on your rotor valves, these oils tend to be too thin and will not provide proper lubrication for the rotor-valve.
  • Don't use sewing-machine oil on small joints. It is usually too thick, tends to get sticky and attract dust.

PHAT PIGs - discontinued

This video will show you how to keep your instrument CLEAN by making use of our PHAT PIGs. It is really an easy, fast and cost effective way to keep your brass instrument clean.

  • Do not place more than ONE PHAT PIG into your instrument at the same time.
  • Don't dip your PHAT PIG into any other "cleaning agent" as this might damage or corrode the metal of your instrument.
